Trap First Reviews: Josh Hartnett Powers a Surprisingly Straightforward Thriller Link to Trap First Reviews: Josh Hartnett Powers a Surprisingly Straightforward Thriller
Set in the dangerous era of World War II, "X Company" follows the stories and adventures of five highly skilled young recruits as they are torn from their lives to train as agents at a secret training facility on the shores of Lake Ontario called Camp X. The agents risk torture or death in each operation, and it is up to them to navigate out of situations where no rules apply. The agents parachute behind enemy lines where anything is fair game, and sabotage, deception, and glamour are part of everyday life. It is an original story about spy craft and the heroes that led the charge to change the world. Read MoreRead Less

Amy Glynn Paste Magazine These are really solid performers in a tense, fraught, one-wrong-move-and-you're-toast situation. It's pretty great. Rated: 8.9/10 Feb 20, 2018 Full Review Mark A. Perigard Boston Herald Not all the plot twists make sense, and the series dials back the gore to almost magical levels, a bit too much for a show about the brutality of war. Yet "X Company" shows unexpected depth. Rated: B Feb 19, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

The percentage is based on the film's reviews aggregated by the website and assessed as positive or negative, and when all aggregated reviews are positive, the film has a 100% rating.
On the film review aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes, films that every surveyed critic considered bad have a 0% rating. As of 2023, only 40 films with more than 20 reviews have received this rating.
So when a movie such as “Black Panther” gets a certified “fresh” 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, we interpret it as a film that is near perfection, while a film such as last year's “The Emoji Movie” that lands around 9 percent, must be a steaming pile of garbage.
So, it's not that Ovation is actively not renewing X Company — they've simply run out of episodes to broadcast. That being said, three seasons feels right; considering the show is based on a true story, adding more episodes just for the sake of it could have diluted an important piece of history.
There are many people who are quick to point out historical inaccuracies - there are some in every crowd who insist on making it less fun for the rest of us - but this show is emotional, fast-paced, and fairly accurate for a show that is only loosely based on a real life spy camp in WWII.
Originally titled Camp X, the series was filmed in Budapest, Hungary, from August to October 2014, and in Orlovat, Serbia and is a Canadian-Hungarian co-production. X Company is inspired by the real spy training facility, Camp X, which was located between Whitby and Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
Other recent series with multiple seasons in the 100% club: The Good Place, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, One Day at a Time, Veep, Fleabag, Jane the Virgin, and Feel Good. Only Murders in the Building season 1 has the most reviews on its perfect 100% score.
Because it's “relatively” easy to get a 100% score after that first handful of reviews (five is the minimum count for a movie to get its Tomatometer), every film listed here has at least crossed the Certified Fresh threshold. Then we sorted them by movies with more reviews featured higher up.
When at least 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a red tomato is displayed to indicate its Fresh status. When less than 60% of reviews for a movie or TV show are positive, a green splat is displayed to indicate its Rotten status.
Any additional Rotten reviews could toss the movie from the 99% Club and into the gutter that is a 98% score, to associate with the likes of Wizard of Oz and The Godfather. You'll notice most in the 99% Club are from this century. Movies may or may not be getting better, but they are getting reviewed more.
