Nourish Organic Juice, 2609 W. Colorado Ave., opened in May serving all-organic, dedicated-gluten-free, and all-vegan dishes.
Nourish Organic Juice is not a new concept. It was first introduced in 2011 by Evelyn Steel. Steel sold the business to Sasha Harrison in 2023. Harrison was a former manager of Nourish when the restaurant was located at 303 E. Pikes Peak Ave.
“I bought everything from Evelyn including recipes and the rights to the name, logo and the juice bottling process,” Harrison said.
Besides a long list of juice possibilities on the menu, Harrison is making salads and soups. She is scheduled to have a new oven installed and will be making muffins, breakfast cookies and granola.
“We will start making kale chips too,” she added. “I make everything from scratch right here.”
On a recent visit the soup of the day was a delicious enchilada soup. For $5.50 you get a generous ladle of soup, which is made with vegan Daiya cheese, black beans, non-GMO corn, green chile, tomatoes, onions, masa harina, organic veggie broth and extra virgin olive oil. Add a sweet snack with white chocolate raspberry protein balls. For $7 you get two protein balls, which are made with gluten-free oat flour, Garden of Life raw fit protein, white chocolate, almond butter, date syrup and almond milk.
The hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Details: 719-238-4343, facebook.com/nourishorganicjuice.

Taste of Malaysian
Malaysian Thai Kitchen, 6760 N. Academy Blvd., formerly Asian Cookery and The Kopi Den coffee shop by Peng Jones, has been replaced with a new Asian food concept. Jones specialized in Malaysian and Singaporean street food. So the menu at Malaysian Thai Kitchen is very similar, except there are no curry puffs for which Jones was know for. However, there are Malaysian samosas in the appetizer selection.
“Malaysian samosas are similar to the curry puffs,” said Malaysian Thai Kitchen co-owner Chris Bunyaraksh, who is Thai. “However, they are in a fried pastry.”
We gave the samosas a try and while, to me, they were very different from the curry puffs, they were also still very tasty. The pastry filling is potato, carrots and peas with a mild curry flavor. We also had chicken curry laksa noodles. For $18.50 we got a huge bowl of egg noodles topped with super-tender chicken in a flavorful coconut-curry sauce garnished with bean sprouts, onions, cilantro, fried wontons and a lime wedge. It was easily enough for two people and delicious.
Prices are reasonable with all entrees below $20. The hours are 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. daily. Details: 719-698-7329, malaysianthaikitchen.com.

New menu and hours
Fountain Creek Winery and Eatery, 606 S. Santa Fe Ave., Fountain, has introduced a new menu, which pairs well with the wines that are produced at the winery. The menu is the creation of executive chef Jessie Hedrick.
We fell in love with the Countryside Lamb rack ($28). You can’t beat the price. The plate held four big, thick lamb chops cooked to perfection and served with a perfectly balanced bodacious (menu’s name) mint wine sauce. It was bold and full of flavor that went well with the earthy lamb flavor. The entrée was completed with a loaded baked potato and sauteed summer squash. Also new on the menu and equally well prepared is the beef stroganoff ($24). It’s old school comfort food at its best. For the price you get a generous serving of thinly sliced prime rib slowly roasted and tossed with zinfandel wine mushroom sauce and served on a bed of buttery noodles.
The eatery offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s a creekside patio to enjoy the summer evenings. Hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays, 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Sundays. Details: 719-465-3012, fountaincreekwinery.com.
